One day, I was looking out of my window and I noticed something small and very very magical. There on a little branch sat a hummingbird on her nest! She was incredible! So tiny! Such an impossibly small and neat nest! When she would leave the nest, I could see two jellybean sized eggs inside! She sat on that nest through the wind and the rain and after awhile, the eggs hatched and there were her little bitty babies (who looked a lot like bugs.) It was one of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed in my life. My heart would flutter when I watched her and I would cheer for her and worry about her in the rain. But this incredible and astounding activity was something that happens every single day in the world of the hummingbirds. We are just too big and busy to notice! My advice to me is to slow down and look for these magical moments more often! They are there if you pay attention and they will brighten your days, inspire you, and make you say "Hurray!"
Luckily, I walked by this house yesterday. The person that lives here decided to hang big gorgeous disco balls all along the front on the house. How about that? I wish that person would have been outside when I walked by so that I could have said "Thank you!!" and awarded that fine and expressive citizen with a glittery HURRAY DAY badge of honor! Its a fine thing to decorate your home or dress in a style that lets the world know who you are and what you dig. There will be people that appreciate you, and it is healthy to open the drapes of your brain's windows.
I have noticed that there are scented sub-seasons to the seasons. The beginning of the spring exploded with azaleas and their lovely subtle smell. Next up was jasmine, which made me want to lie dawn on the sidewalk and smile. Then came the magnolias with their spicy romantic perfume! And now...hold on to your nostrils...GARDENIAS! Goodness gracious gorgeous!!!Today I smelled a little preview of what is coming soon! HONEYSUCKLE! HURRAY!
I am going to try to stay on this aroma experience throughout the year. I imagine it doesn't have to only be flowers that will mark my nose's days. I can't wait for a whiff of suntan lotion this summer! Or pumpkin pie in November! Smmmmell the seasons!
