Mardi Gras is coming. Can you feel it in the air? Once you have experienced this wild event, its hard to not feel it, no matter where you are. The magic gets inside of you  (if you are lucky!) There's a tiny (in a few ways) parade that rolls in New Orleans this weekend called the 'Tit Rex parade. Rex is a big classic parade that rolls on Mardi Gras Day and this is a petite version! People make amazing little floats and walk them or RC them down a little sidewalk in the Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans. There is a small marching band and folks throw tiny pairs of beads and favors as the floats creep down the street. Oh its FANTASTIC. Such miniscule magic.

Why not make a tiny parade for your neighborhood if you are not lucky enough to be in the south for this occasion? Gather some folks, big and small, put on a costume and march down the street singing a song! Decorate your bikes and skateboards and wagons! Bring your dogs! Make floats out of cardboard boxes and strap them to your shoulders. Bring kazoos! Tell your neighbors in advance so you have an audience to cheer you on or just play some music too loud and force them outside! I bet you all my beads, you will all have a fun time!

Horsing Around!

It is the YEAR OF THE HORSE! Giddy up! Giddy up! Giddy up! Let's go! I don't know enough about the Chinese Astrology symbols to really tell you much about what is in store for us this year, but I hear its about being decisive and productive and going on adventures. Sounds good! Someone told me that a "horse's hours" are between 11am-2pm so that is when we should really try to make things happen this year. OK! Why not find or make a little horse figurine to set out to make this year feel welcome! Giddy up!
