Imagine this turkey running around the woods!! Awe your Thanksgiving guests with this wild dish and be thankful for two extra drumsticks.

Mutant Turkey

1 roasting turkey

2 extra drum

sticks

olive oil

salt and pepper

garlic powder

sturdy toothpicks, short skewers or poultry needle and thread

1. Preheat oven to 450°. Rub the turkey and extra drumsticks with olive oil. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder on the skin. 2. Place the bird and drumsticks on a rack in an uncovered pan, and put them in the oven. Reduce the heat to 350°. Roast about 20 minutes per pound of turkey. The drumsticks will be done more quickly, in an hour. 3. Remove the drumsticks from the oven when ready. 4. *Remove the turkey when ready and allow to cool for 10 minutes. 5. Then attach the legs to the body of the turkey with toothpicks, skewers, or a poultry needle and thread before serving.

* To test the turkey for doneness, prick it where the drumsticks attach to the body with a toothpick or sharp knife. When the juices run clear, it is ready!
