This is a nice activity/snack for this back to schoolish time of year!
A sack of big long pretzels
2 bags of white chocolate chips
1 Tablespoon canola oil
yellow and red food coloring
A handful of small chocolate chips
1. Using a serrated knife, scrape the ends of one side of the pretzel to a rough point, like a pencil. 2. Fill a saucepan with an inch of water. Place a glass or stainless steel mixing bowl on top of the pan and heat on low setting. Add the oil and white chips and stir until melted. Remove from heat. 3. Dip pointed pretzel tips into mixture and lay onto baking rack placed on waxed paper. 4. Stick a chocolate chip onto tip to look like “pencil lead”. 5. Remove a few spoonfuls of mixture and place in a small bowl with a drop or two of red food coloring. Stir. Dip other end of pretzel into this bowl to make “erasers”. 6. Stir a couple drops of yellow food coloring in to the remaining mixture. Spoon yellow mixture onto centers of pretzels and let dry completely.
