My friend Starlee Kine has really good ideas! Every January Starlee and her friends make New Year's Resolution Cookies. They shape sweet cookies into their hopes and dreams for the coming year and then they eat them. Isn't that just the BEST IDEA? I really love it so much. They focus on their intention, shaping it, really getting their hands and heads in it. Then they bake them in the oven. Let them cool. Then they stare at those dreams. Laugh at them maybe. Smile at them for sure. Decorate them perhaps, or just leave them pure and plain and simple. And then...they EAT them and let them become part of them! Did you just get a tingling feeling of excitement thinking about that? I did! I did! This year me and a few neighbor pals followed Starlee's lead and made a few. You can see them above. I made an egg. I have never eaten a poached, fried, soft-boiled egg in my life. Isn't that crazy? Its just about the only thing I won't eat in the world. Well, I am going to have one this year and then maybe I am going to have them all the time. Who knows what will happen! But I am sick of having that silly rule and I want to be more adventurous in a lot of ways. So I ate that egg cookie (and a few more symbolizing other hopes!) and now I am excited! You should make some New Years Resolution Cookies too! Come on! Its so great! Hurray 2014!
